About Malmö Children's and Women's Shelter

Malmö Children's and Women's Shelter is a non-profit association founded in 1980 that works for an equal society free from violence. We offer protection and support to women and children affected by violence. Our operations include a safe house, counseling services, a support line, and chat. Our work also involves advocacy and violence prevention efforts.

Qualifications and specific requirements

• A degree in social work is required.
• Experience in counseling work with domestic violence.
• Competence in motivational interviewing, women's shelter work, counseling methods, and parent education.
• Competence in method development.
• Experience in giving lectures.
• Arabic language skills are advantageous.
• A manual transmission driver's license is required.

Your duties

As a counselor with us, your main responsibilities will include:

• Having a coordinating function regarding women, children, and families in the residence.
• Conducting safety assessments, implementation plans, and record-keeping.
• Contacts with authorities regarding assignments, assistance decisions, and collaboration.
• Collaborating and performing tasks in a team.
• Conducting support sessions individually and in groups with adults and children and offering parent support.
• Organizing activities and performing practical tasks to create a safe and pleasant living environment.
• Staffing the support line and conducting outreach efforts such as information and lecture initiatives.
• Generating project ideas and then leading and implementing the projects.
• Developing methods and method materials.

Information about the position

Scope: Full-time, we apply a 37.5-hour work week. Evening and weekend work may occur. On-call duty according to schedule.

Employment type: Permanent position, we apply an initial six-month probationary period.

Start date: As agreed.
