Summer job as my kind personal assistant & friend

Are you looking for a summer job? Do you want to start during the spring? Do you want to continue after the summer? We have the ability to be flexible!

You must have a very good understanding that your contribution is crucial for my life to function in the best possible way. You have knowledge of what the profession entails and that it also comes with various challenges at times. All people have the right to and want to live their lives to the fullest. Can you offer me safe and secure assistance as well as a good and joyful life? Are you kind, confident in yourself, and have a very good work ethic? If you have answered yes to these questions, it might be you we are looking for!

Start date according to agreement. We have the ability to be somewhat flexible with the employment rate. Perhaps you wish to work a bit less now but can work more during the summer? You begin with an introduction schedule and are then offered a position of approximately 70-75% with your own schedule. I am granted assistance around the clock and during the night it is AWAKE assistance.

If you have any requests regarding working hours, we would like you to write them in your application already. You are also welcome to write any vacation requests, thank you! During the summer from June to August, we have a summer schedule.

When vacant shifts occur, there is an opportunity to work more.

Unfortunately, I cannot hire you if you are allergic to furry animals or are a tobacco user. This also includes substitutes such as white snus and e-cigarettes.

It is about as difficult for me to briefly summarize this position as I think it is for you to make a complete presentation of yourself in a letter. This is because the role as someone's personal assistant is based on that person's life, and as you hopefully understand, my life is as multifaceted as yours. Nevertheless, I will try to explain who I and my friends/assistants are looking for...

This is what the work shifts look like with me: Full days 08:00-20:00, morning shifts 5–7 hours and afternoon shifts 5–6 hours. The awake night shifts are 12 hours, 20:00-08:00. For night shifts, it is very important that you have a good understanding and insight into what this entails. You should be able to adjust your sleep schedule easily and sleep during the day to come refreshed and rested to me in the evening. If you do not have previous experience with night work, you are of course also welcome to apply, just remember that a night job does not mean your day has 24 hours. Rest, sleep, and recovery are very important when working at night.

The introduction always starts with day shifts with me, regardless of what schedule my assistants have. This way, we get to know each other properly and you learn as much as possible about my life. It is also nice and important that you get to know my other friends/assistants. Everyone should be able to collaborate.

You who apply should be self-sufficient and confident in yourself. You master Swedish fluently in speech and writing, you are also able to swim. We also assume that you can handle common household chores and can help and support me in my daily life.

It is not a requirement that you have previous experience as a personal assistant, although it is seen as meritorious. Your attitude and understanding of the profession and what it means to be my personal assistant are most important. A position as my personal assistant involves, among other things, engagement, self-motivation, great patience, a friendly approach, flexibility, and good collaboration skills. We place great importance on personal suitability. Developing a relationship does not happen overnight, so I am looking for you who really want to do the best for me by getting to know me and understand that it is the key to success.

It might sound harsh, but my requirement is that you who apply are driven and responsible but also come with your own initiatives regardless of my daily condition. It can vary greatly how much I can manage due to my severe epilepsy, so you should be able to take your own initiatives and be flexible when plans need to be changed. My interests vary a bit depending on the season. In the summer, I love swimming in my pool, it is truly a favorite. I also enjoy everything from cooking & running with my marathon wheelchair to museums, concerts, and the gym to give you some clues.

A position as a personal assistant is varied, but with me, you can think that your role consists of three parts;

1. You help me with all basic needs with a great sense of integrity and respect.

2. You are my physical support, which means it is an advantage for you if you yourself care about your health and enjoy exercising in your free time.

3. You are my engine in daily life and have, together with your colleague, the responsibility to plan activities and routines.

These three parts of your professional role should be permeated by you being my friend because that is how the collaboration works best and how I want to be treated. I myself turned 20 a few years ago. My group of friends is therefore quite young, they are all in their 20s-30s, (20-30 years old). My life changes quickly, so my friends always need to be rested, patient, and give of themselves regardless of what conditions I have or obstacles I encounter in daily life. They are my friends and see me for who I am behind my difficulties, and I want to complement with you who think the same way and do not regard me as your patient. I require a high work ethic, which for you who apply means that you are reliable and treat me, your colleagues, and your profession with respect. You are also kind and calm and understand that your contribution is life-determining for me, your understanding of flexibility and variation in my existence creates the best conditions for both of us. Finally, and perhaps most importantly; you need to have a very great understanding that my life is different and comes with various challenges.
