Do you want to work as a personal assistant for a 13-year-old boy who lives with his family in Strängnäs? We are looking for an assistant who can cover during absences and vacations. As a substitute, you need to be able to work both day shifts and wake night shifts.

About the position

Our client is a 13-year-old boy with CP injury, epilepsy, and has autism-like behavior. He uses a wheelchair but can also move without a wheelchair with support. He has no own speech, so you as an applicant need to be understanding and attentive to the boy's signals to understand him. He needs help with everything in his daily life. During the day, the boy attends school and has no assistance, but on holidays and free days, he has assistance during the day as well. The boy loves everything that spins and rolls and can spend hours rolling large stones; he is also a pro at YouTube and loves his tablet.

The work is based on respect for the individual's self-determination and integrity. A thorough and clear introduction applies upon employment, so that you as an assistant feel secure but above all for the client to feel secure with you. There are cats in the home, so you should not be allergic to cats.

You as an applicant

You as an applicant are welcome to have experience in personal assistance and preferably with working with children within LSS. You should be loyal, flexible, and mature in your approach to different situations, both demanding and less demanding. You should be able to adapt your pedagogical approach to the individual. Experience with epilepsy, low-arousal approach, and experience with outward-aggressive behavior are advantageous.

As a personal assistant, you work at the boy's family home, and it is therefore important that you are good at communicating, have a good and respectful approach, and good empathic ability.

Since the boy does not have spoken language and has difficulty expressing himself, it is required that you are creative, attentive, and aware of small signals. Experience in personal assistance is advantageous, but personal suitability and care experience will weigh the most. Please include in your application when you are available for the position.

As the boy is under 18 years old, a presented extract from the criminal records register is required before employment.
