Description

About Us

Trygga Barn is a foster care organization within Vivant Care. We started in November 2022 and are the first organization in the country to offer child advocates to all placed children. We focus on children and youth who need placement outside their own homes. Our philosophy is that children do not have their own direct behavioral problems, but the child's upbringing conditions have led to mental illness, trauma, substance abuse, and criminality.

Job Duties

Our organization is currently in an expansion phase and we need an additional new colleague! We are now looking for a foster care supervisor. Your job duties include supervising and supporting foster homes, emergency homes, and treatment families. Depending on assignments, supervision may occur weekly or monthly, both physically and digitally.

You should be accustomed to record-keeping and have the ability to write weekly and monthly reports. You should have knowledge of social services' work with children and youth and be able to guide foster homes in this. We consider it advantageous if you have completed training in supervision for foster homes and/or "A Home to Grow In".

You should be open to flexibility and able to travel daily to various locations in the country when visiting your foster homes. If needed, you may need to conduct foster home assessments.

Workplace and Working Hours

Our office is located in central Stockholm, a three-minute walk from the subway at Gullmarsplan. You have the opportunity to work from home 1-3 days a week. During home visits to foster homes, the workplace is at another location. The position is full-time and you are responsible for managing your working hours. We are also a dog-friendly workplace!

Employment

The employment is permanent with a six-month probationary period. We have a collective agreement and you receive occupational pension, wellness allowance, and fun and driven colleagues. You also need to understand that we are in an expansion phase and find organizational development exciting. You should be able to provide feedback and ideas so we can always improve. All our employees receive a secure introduction and you have a present manager who will always support you in your role.

Personal Qualifications

For us, it is important that our employees belong to a cohesive and secure work group. We work based on our core values and it is expected that you do the same. Therefore, we are looking for you who are:

  • Humble and open to adopting new evidence-based working methods and able to reflect on your own approaches.
  • Driven, take own initiatives, engaged, and can perform at a high level, especially in stressful situations.
  • You are solution-focused and understand that the municipality sometimes has limited resources - but have the ability to deliver the best possible care despite that.
  • Independent and structured where you have the ability to plan your working hours and ensure you perform the job duties expected of you.
  • You are direct, clear, and honest with your colleagues and supervisors. With us, we never talk about each other but with each other.
  • You are courageous and always work based on the child's best interest. With us, the child comes first and in cases of misconduct, you should dare to act together with your colleagues.
  • You can work in a group and see people's strengths and respect that we are different and good at different things.

Advantageous

It is advantageous if you as an applicant have/are:

  • You can start your employment as soon as possible
  • Experience working with children and/or youth.
  • You have knowledge of legislation such as SoL, LVU, LSS, OSL, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
  • You have a supervisor training with a focus on foster care.
  • You are trained in trauma-informed care.
  • You have completed the training "A Home to Grow In".
  • You have worked in social services as either a child secretary, foster care secretary, or family therapist.
  • You have experience in therapeutic conversations.
  • You are multilingual.
