The Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI) is a government agency that conducts world-leading research in defense and security to support Sweden's military and civil defense. The research spans several areas, such as underwater, cyber defense, space, electronic warfare, sensor systems, civil defense, CBRNe (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive substances), military platforms including weapons and protection, and security policy analyses. About the Position Together with experienced colleagues, you will work on analyzing and developing methods and techniques to prevent and manage cyber threats. This may involve experiments related to automating incident handling, studies of software vulnerabilities, automatic generation of attack scenarios, evaluation of security properties in digital systems, analyses of cybersecurity risks, or creating network environments for experiments, evaluation, and training in the cyber facility Crate. Built-up knowledge is applied in projects where you contribute to solving concrete cybersecurity issues for our clients, among other things by participating in analyzing possible or chosen security architectures and security measures. About the Unit You will be part of the Cybersecurity unit, which belongs to Cyber Defense and Management Technology. FOI has one of Sweden's largest research groups in cybersecurity. We work with current as well as future challenges, primarily related to automation, methods, and evaluation in cybersecurity. At our disposal, we have one of the world's most advanced cyber facilities (Crate) for research, training, exercises, and evaluation. Do you have the competency profile we need? Requirements We are looking for you who have: a Master of Science in Engineering degree in computer technology, or skills that FOI deems equivalent documented interest in cybersecurity, for example through educational choices or leisure activities fluent skills in Swedish in speech and writing as the work requires it. Personal qualities we highly value for this position are good ability to analyze and solve complex problems, to be self-sufficient, and to collaborate with others.
