About the job - Transport and handling of deceased individuals
When a person passes away, the body should be transported in a dignified and safe manner. This may involve collection from the location of death to the nearest mortuary or transport to the National Board of Forensic Medicine for examination.
As a transporter with us, you become part of the entire chain regarding the handling of the deceased. The work always occurs in teams of two, where you alternate between driver and assistant. You collaborate closely with the Police Authority, the National Board of Forensic Medicine, municipal residences, external residences, and our own funeral agencies.
Work hours are varied, and the workload can fluctuate between high-intensity periods and quieter shifts. The work also involves responsibility for vehicle maintenance, material handling, and freedom under responsibility.
Work tasks
- Transport and handling of deceased individuals
- Casket placements and assignments for our funeral agencies
- Vehicle maintenance and handling of work and consumable materials
- Collaboration with authorities, healthcare personnel, and relatives
Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- B driver's license (required) and confident in operating larger vehicles
- Basic computer skills
- No criminal record and not appearing in the criminal records register (checks are conducted in accordance with the Police Authority's requirements)
- Good physical condition and stable mental state as the work can be both physically demanding and mentally taxing
Meritorious
- Experience in transporting deceased individuals
- Experience from healthcare, caregiving, transport, or other service-oriented operations
