Transport Manager - Temporary Position (12 months)

GLC is in an expansion phase and is now seeking an experienced and confident Senior Transport Manager for a temporary position in our Thermo & Distribution operations in Gårdsten.

This is a role for you who are used to working independently, making quick decisions, and driving transport flows with high quality and efficiency – even when the pace is high and conditions change rapidly.

About the role

As a Senior Transport Manager with us, you have overall responsibility for planning, optimizing, and monitoring our transports. You are a central function in the business and work closely with drivers, carriers, customers, and internal functions.

The role places high demands on structure, prioritization skills, and decisiveness. You are confident in your competence and take responsibility for ensuring deliveries are efficient, profitable, and of high quality.

Your main areas of responsibility:

• Independent planning and directing of transports
• Route optimization and resource planning with a focus on profitability
• Active monitoring of delivery accuracy and quality
• Daily operational dialogue with drivers, carriers, and customers
• Handling deviations and quick reprioritizations
• Administrative responsibility and billing support
• Contributing to improvement work and development of routines

We are looking for you who:

• Have documented experience in transport management
• Are used to working at a high pace and making independent decisions
• Have a good understanding of logistics flows and economic relationships
• Are structured, solution-oriented, and business-minded
• Communicate clearly and professionally
• Are confident in dialogue with both customers and drivers
• Speak and write fluently in Swedish and English (required)

Experience from temperature-controlled transports or food logistics is meritorious.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in transport management or a similar operational role
• Good system familiarity and experience with administrative tools
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, spoken and written (mandatory)
• Class B driver's license

Employment conditions

• Temporary position for 12 months
• Begins with a 6-month probationary period
• Start: Immediately or as agreed
• Scope: Full-time
• Working hours according to operational needs (day, evening, and night shifts may occur)
• Location: Gårdstens Industriväg 6, Angered
