About Us

Hotel Skansen is a hotel, spa, conference, and restaurant facility in Färjestaden, just after the bridge landing on Öland. We are constantly evolving – we want more and are always working to be the obvious choice on Öland.

With us, you will find:

• 78 hotel rooms
• Several conference rooms (up to about 250 guests)
• Spa area with pool and relaxation
• Restaurant and banquet hall
• One of the world's largest whiskey cellars

About the Role

As a caretaker with us, you have a key role in ensuring everything runs smoothly – every day.

The work is varied and requires you to know a little about a lot. You quickly switch between different tasks and are both handy and solution-oriented. One day you fix minor issues in hotel rooms or clear a drain, the next day you set up conference rooms, mow the lawn, or ensure the pool environment is in top condition.

You work closely with all departments and are a natural part of the guest experience – even in the practical work.

Examples of job duties:

• Guest reception and service
• Addressing and repairing reported issues
• Preventive maintenance, indoors and outdoors
• Setting up conference rooms
• Pool maintenance
• Trash collection and goods reception
• Park maintenance (mowing, watering, weeding)
• Physically demanding tasks

Who Are You?

We are looking for you who:

• Are practically inclined and technically handy
• Are physically strong and enjoy a dynamic job
• Have an eye for detail and address things that need fixing
• Are solution-oriented and can make your own decisions
• Enjoy collaborating and contributing to team spirit
• Have a positive attitude and greet guests with a smile

You need:

• B driver's license for manual transmission
• Speak Swedish fluently

Employment Conditions

• Permanent employment at 80% (30 hours/week), starting with a 6-month probationary period
• Rotating schedule with work every other weekend
• Varying working hours – we are open all days of the week
• We are members of Visita and follow the collective agreement with HRF
• Salary according to agreement: 153.64 SEK/hour. With 6 years of experience: 167.31 SEK/hour.
